Coffee capsules: Ethical Coffee and Betron also victorious in the second round against Nespresso

Coffee capsules: Ethical Coffee and Betron also victorious in the second round against Nespresso The Higher Regional Court in Düsseldorf has today rejected the appeal petitions by Nestec, a company of the Nestlé Group, against Ethical Coffee Company (Switzerland) SA and Betron AG. Nestec had proceeded against the companies in injunctive proceedings because of alleged patent infringement. Ethical Coffee, the producer of biodegradable coffee capsules which are compatible with the Nespresso machines - founded by the former president of Nespresso, Mr Jean-Paul Gaillard - and importer Betron had already successfully put up a fight against Nestec last summer. The dispute, which is also being waged internationally, has received considerable attention from the press. ARNOLD RUESS has represented Ethical Coffee as well as Betron before the German courts since the start of disputes.
